Mrs Sylvia Palmer tells us
why working at The Bell is so
special to her
We moved to my home town of
Worthing, I worked for nearly
fifteen as a nursing sister on
nights, after which I decided I
had had enough of being a night
owl and changed to day shifts. I
worked in a thirty-four bedded
nursing home and was promoted to
Deputy Matron. In April 1997 we
moved to Lancing and I decided
to try agency nursing. In the
six months I worked two shifts
at The Bell, to my good fortune
a nursing position was available
and so in November 1997 I was
working full time as a nursing
sister. Within six months I was
offered and accepted the post of
Deputy Nurse Manager.
My
manager Mrs Maureen Condick has
been and remains an excellent
mentor, it has been with her
encouragement and belief in me
my management skills have
developed and I have obtained my
R.M.A. I am fortunate to be
involved with The Bells
successful training centre as a
trainer, which offers me variety
in my role at the Bell. What
motivates me get up every
morning and head to work at the
Bell? The excellent caring team
I have the good fortune to work
with and the knowledge of
belonging to a Residential Home
who strives and expects the
highest standard of care for
all. |
